About

The gerenuk, often called the "giraffe gazelle," is an antelope native to East Africa with an unusually long neck that allows it to reach leaves other herbivores can’t. It frequently stands on its hind legs to nibble on high branches, reaching over 2m above the ground. They can go their entire lives without drinking water, getting all the moisture they need from the plants they eat. Their ability to survive in harsh, arid environments makes them well-adapted to life in the African savannas.
