Atemoya

About
Atemoya is the hybrid of a sugar apple and a cherimoya, which are both native to the American tropics. It is normally heart-shaped and rounded, and has a lumpy green exterior, but inside, the creamy white flesh has a sweet, slightly tangy taste that resembles a piña colada and vanilla. Originally developed in the early 20th century, atemoya is now grown in tropical and subtropical regions. Just watch out for the black seeds — they’re toxic if eaten!
