Pink Fairy Armadillo

About
The pink fairy armadillo is the smallest armadillo species in the world (about the size of a dollar bill) and is a nocturnal creature that spends most of its life underground. Sightings are extremely rare, and therefore scientists know very little about its population size or trends. One armadillo researcher worked in its habitat for 13 years without ever coming across one.
Pink fairy armadillos are believed to be solitary creatures, and they do not do well away from their home. Around 95% die within eight days of being taken from their habitat.
Location
It is endemic to the deserts and scrub lands of central Argentina.
